Can you walk around Burghley House for free?
You can roam the park for free, (though some areas are regularly cordoned off because of events), but entrance to the gardens and house must be paid for. You can buy tickets for the House and Gardens, or Gardens only. Check their website for special closures due to events (Burghley Horse Trials are very soon).

Generally considered a moderately challenging route, it takes an average of 2 h 24 min to complete. This trail is great for trail running and walking. The trail is open year-round and is beautiful to visit anytime. Dogs are welcome and may be off-leash in some areas.
