What is structo-Lite used for?
STRUCTO-LITE Basecoat provides a plastic working material that will conform to various designs and help achieve durability in walls and ceilings. It can be applied by hand or machine methods, on gypsum or metal lath, clay tile, concrete or cinder blocks and other approved plaster bases.
How fast does structo-Lite Dry?
My front parlor took a full year to restore but easily seventy-five percent of the original plaster is still there melded indistinguishably into the replaced Structolite areas with a rather thick ONE coat of the product. It takes overnight to dry.
What type of mortar do you use to set a bathtub?
Both regular thinset mortar and floor leveling compound are suitable. A series of strategically placed piles is easier to control than a full bed, and it provides comparable support for the tub.
Can you use structo Lite on drywall?
However, StructoLite does not. It sticks to plaster without issue, but it has an issue with drywall. This has to do with the drywall paper sucking the water out of the plaster too quickly as it cures. This can cause cracking.
Can you paint structo Lite?
A: Thank you for your question. Structo-lite requires a finish coat which is Red Top Gauging plaster with perlite aggregate. We do not recommend painting directly over basecoat plaster. Hope this helps.

How many bags of mortar do I need to set a bathtub?
Usually you need one 55 lb of mortar for one tub. But as you’ll see in our video we had to use two bags, but it’s not like the Mud Bed Mix is breaking the bank. Mix the mortar so that it can support the tub. It should not be runny but rather stand up on it’s own.

When you apply StructoLite to the wall the trowel feels like it sort of floats across the surface in the gritty and rough way. One thing to note about Master of Plaster is that it sticks to anything equally well. However, StructoLite does not. It sticks to plaster without issue, but it has an issue with drywall.
