What is Parallel limb bow?
The idea of the parallel limb is to get the limbs moving at angles perpendicular to the riser, allowing the upper and lower limb assemblies to cancel each other’s inertia. Unfortunately, the quest for sustained sales growth drove a few bow manufacturers to molest the concept.
What is better a single cam or dual cam bow?
As a result, single cams are usually more accurate. The only exception would be binary dual cam bows which are generally the most accurate dual cam models, but they still aren’t more accurate than a single cam. Just carrying your bow by the string can throw the dual cams out of sync over time.
Can you replace limbs on a compound bow?
Changing limbs is not a big deal, people do it all the time. Definitely no need to go buy a new bow. BUT… you will need to re-tune the bow. And I would probably head to a bow shop and pay a few bucks for them to do it with a press and have a draw board on hand to check and set things back up correctly after the swap.
How does a compound bow press work?
With the crank of a wheel or on some models, the push of a button, the EZ Press presses the bow’s limb tips in towards the center of the bow, taking tension off the compound bow’s string and cable(s) allowing desired work to be performed.
Is a bow press necessary?
It’s not a requirement unless you plan on doing a lot of work on your bow. If you bow has a cam-specific drawlength (not modules) then it may come in handy. I’ve been working on my bows for the better part of 3 years with only a Bowmaster. If I need extensive work or the strings taken off/replaced I take it to a shop.
Why do I need a bow press?
A bow press is a mechanical press which flexes the bow’s limbs to take tension off the bow string and cable(s) so maintenance work can be performed. The easiest to use and most popular archery press on the market right now is Last Chance Archery’s EZ Press.
Which is faster DOHC or SOHC?
To sum it up, a 4 Valve per cylinder SOHC engine with a lighter valvetrain mass would have better performance characteristics at the lower end of the powerband. However, at higher engine speeds, a DOHC setup with its higher valvetrain mass and as many valves per cylinder will develop higher peak torque and horsepower.
Does anyone still make single cam bows?
Single cam bows are some of the most popular bows on the market today due to their easy to tune design and incredibly smooth draw cycle. There is currently no group that makes that more evident than Aaron, Greg, Jake, Zach, and Ted from The Hunting Public.
