What is a Pathtag?
A pathtag is a small (1″ diameter) coin that is left as signature items by some geocachers. The design on the face of the coin is customized, while the other side holds a generic design and a serial number. They’re often mistaken for geocoins, but there are three main differences between geocoins and pathtags.
Can you keep a Pathtag?
Pathtags are more like registered swag. All tags of 1 design have the same number. When you log it, you log it into your collection. You can then keep it or drop it in another cache.
How much is Pathtags?
The price is typically $25+ per custom design. Once you both agree on a design, you’ll pay and they’ll send you a file that you can upload to pathtags.com. Pathtags.com gives out a promo each month. For example, one month might be free glitter, 10% more tags per order, or free glow.
Who makes Pathtags?
Danoshimano’s Pathtags Pathtags are small (23 mm) metal tags that Geocachers use as signature items, and to trade and collect. While geocoins can be manufactured by almost anybody, Pathtags are the product of a single company.
What do you do with path tags?
They are generally used as personal “signature items” for Geocaching or other trade item. If found, simply log it and the tag’s profile will display for you to view. Unless the profile says otherwise, you are welcome to add it into your permanent collection.
