Is Laxido a drug?
Laxido Orange is a laxative for the treatment of constipation and faecal impaction in adults, children (aged 12 years and above) and the elderly. The usual dose for constipation is one sachet taken one to three times daily. The usual dose for faecal impaction is eight sachets daily.
What type of laxative is Laxido?
Laxido is a type of laxative used to treat constipation. Laxido contains an osmotic laxative which means that it works by softening hard stools by forcing them to absorb more water from inside the bowel. Laxido works in the same way as Movicol and CosmoCol.
Is Laxido a stool softener?
Laxido contains the active ingredient Macrogol 3350 as well as electrolytes. It softens the stools by increasing the water content and thereby making them easier to pass. It can also be used as a treatment for faecal impaction.

Is it OK to take Laxido long term?

What time of day is best to take Laxido?
The daily number of sachets should be taken in divided doses, all taken within 12 hours (e.g. 8am to 8pm).
What is better Movicol or Laxido?
The main difference between Laxido and Movicol is the taste. Some people prefer the taste of Laxido Orange, and some people prefer the taste of Movicol, which comes in either lemon and lime flavour, chocolate flavour, or plain flavour. Many people add squash to improve the taste.
Can Laxido cause water retention?
Feeling bloated is a known side effect from taking Laxido, along with swelling of the abdomen and abdominal pain. Consult your doctor if you are experiencing these side effects.
