How do you get black label on Beckett?
Your card must be pristine across the board to achieve the perfect 10. This means it must achieve a score of 10 (out of 10) on corners, edges, surface and centering. Check for whitening and chips. Look very carefully as even the smallest nick will eliminate your chances of getting that ‘Black Label’.
Is BGS still accepting submissions?
Beckett will suspend all grading submissions other than our Premium Level. All orders that are submitted under the Express, Standard, and Economy level will be returned to the customer, ungraded.

Why is Beckett taking so long to grade cards?
With forced closures during the peak of COVID leading to a backlog, the excess demand in recent months has led to significant delays for all of the grading companies. Thus, if you have a card you want to get graded, you could be waiting upwards of six months to get your card back.
Is Beckett open again?
Beckett Grading has reopened its Standard level service and expects its long running backlog of orders to be completed and on their way back to customers by the end of May. Both Beckett and PSA were deluged with orders as trading card popularity grew just before and during the pandemic.
Can you add Subgrades for BGS?
After much discussion internally and with hobby collectors, dealers, and customers, Beckett Grading has decided to add a new service that we think we help the demand of graded Beckett cards. Starting on July 11, 2016, Beckett Grading will be offering a single grade service for a BGS card — that means no sub grades.

The general consensus seems to be that BGS is a bit cheaper and faster than PSA, and it’s also the preferred option for newer, modern cards. Most of their services include collectible cards, but also other types of collectibles. BGS uses an algorithm to help them determine the grade of the card.
