Why is it called Intercontinental?
Well from what I have heard, it was a typo in some document before completion of the airport and it somehow stuck (the word ‘Intercontinental’ was unique and stood out from the plethora of airports using the word ‘International’ ) . I believe that the original name slated for the airport was Jetereo Int’l Airport.
