How often should I use GRINDZ™ Grinder Cleaner? It is recommended to use GRINDZ™ for espresso grinders once a week and for shop grinders once a month.
What is grindz made of?
Grindz is a proprietary mixture of grains, cereals, and pharmaceutical-grade binders formed into tablets that are the same size and shape as coffee beans.
How often should you use grindz to clean the coffee grinder?
The easiest way to clean a grinder is to run Grindz through it every couple of months. The following is from our partners at Urnex: Before using Grindz, make sure to empty your hopper of any old coffee and adjust your grind 3 to 4 steps coarser.
How do you use grindz grinder Cleaner?
- Step 1: Empty all coffee from grinder.
- Step 2: Add Grindz Grinder Cleaning Tablets – use 1 jar cap (35-40 g) for espresso grinders or 2 caps (70-80 g) for shop grinders.
- Step 3: Adjust grinder to medium setting and operate.
- Step 4: To purge, repeat steps 1-3 using coffee beans instead of Grindz.

How long do coffee grinders last?

A good quality grinder that is used regularly should last you for about 5-10 years. A good blade grinder will grind about 500-800 pounds of coffee beans before its blades begin to dull. Burr grinders, on the other hand, will grind up to 1500 pounds of coffee before you have to replace the burrs.
Should you clean coffee grinder after every use?
As a general rule, clean your coffee grinder every two weeks. However, if you’re grinding every day, or using oily beans, you’ll want to clean your grinder about once a week.
Can you use rice to clean a coffee grinder?
Put a 1/4 cup of rice in your blade grinder and grind for about a minute (until it’s pulverized). Once it’s pulverized, oils and dust should cling to the rice. Dump the pulverized rice out of of the grinder. Using a wet paper towel, wipe out the grinder.
