An LED strip light is typically half an inch (10-12 mm) in width, and up to 16 feet (5 meters) or more in length.
Can you connect 2 5m LED strips together?
Yes you can. If you wire your LED strip lights in a ring main, you’ll be able to connect approximately 10 metres of tape in a single run. (So that’s twice the normal 5m length). This is because the ring main will power your LED strip from both ends; it’s just as if you are powering 2 x 5m lengths independently.
Can you connect 3 5m LED strips together?
This is no different with LED strips. Vetco recommends, as a general rule, not to connect more than three complete strips end-to-end without adding in extra, higher gauge power wire or additional power supply units down the line.
Do LED strips use a lot of electricity?
An average LED strip light consumes roughly 7 to 35 watts. This wattage is highly dependent on the specific product, as more energy-conscious strip lights require very little electricity while bright, fully-featured lights can use almost as much electricity as a conventional bulb.
How many watts is a 5m LED strip?
In electrical terms, we now know that at 12V, this LED strip will draw about 24 Watts per reel (5 meters), or about 2.0 Amps.
How long can you run LED strip lights?
24V DC LED strip longest length is 32ft (10 metres). 24V Constant Current (CC) LED Strip is 65ft (20 meters). 120V LED Strip maximum length is 164ft (50 meters). 24V RGB & RGBW maximum run lengths are 23ft (7 metres).
Why do my LED lights only work when I touch them?

How bright is a 3000 lumen LED light?
At 3000 lumens, they are super-bright and the color temperature is 5500K – 6000K, which is very “white” – like daylight. I have a big back yard, and two of these fixtures do a great job of covering and illuminating the entire area, even the nooks and crannies.
What colors do the 5mm LEDs come in?
In addition to standard white and warm-white we also offer a large selection of color 5mm LEDs; the color options range from ultra-violet through infrared. Many of the colors offered are available in different output viewing angles, but all have clear lenses unlike other 5mm LEDs that use a colored dome lens to create color.
How do I regulate the current to 5mm LEDs?
Another option to regulate the current to 5mm LEDs is our DynaOhm driver line. These are actually semi-conductor based variable resistors that give off 20, 25 and 30mA outputs.
Is there a minimum order for 5mm LEDs?
All our 5mm LEDs are built by top manufacturers in a variety of colors, intensities and illumination patterns. There is no minimum order for these LEDs so if all you need is a replacement you’ve come to the right place. We also offer volume discounts for purchases of 10, 50, 100 and 500 pieces.
