Is Great Falls an easy hike?
This scenic trail follows Difficult Run from Georgetown Pike to where the stream ends at the Potomac River. Along the way, the stream travels through a rocky bed and over a small series of rapids. This trail is narrow and rocky in some sections. Swimming and wading are prohibited in Difficult Run and the Potomac River.

Parking Directions for Cascade Falls Hiking Trail: From SR 89, on the south side of Emerald Bay and directly across from Inspiration Point is the Bayview Campground. Pull into the campground and drive to the back to find the day-use trailhead parking.
