Can you use m copper with ProPress?
ProPress® and ProPress XL (Copper) are safe, reliable and economical copper pipe installation systems that use modern cold press connection technology. Viega® ProPress fittings are for use with type K, L and M hard copper tubing from ½” to 4″ and soft copper tubing in ½” to 1¼” diameters.
What is the difference between MegaPress and MegaPress G?
MegaPress comes with an EPDM sealing element, while MegaPressG has an HNBR sealing element. FKM sealing elements are available in MegaPress fittings as well as MegaPress 304 or MegaPress 316 stainless fittings. MegaPress 316 is also available with an EPDM sealing element.
Is ProPress legal underground?
It’s one of the most common questions we get: can MegaPress, ProPress and other fittings be used underground? The answer is yes. Viega press fittings are approved for underground installations, per Uniform Code and International Code listings.
Can you press a ProPress fitting twice?
Yes, although this should be avoided if possible. As a general rule of thumb, if the fitting is turned more than 5° it must be repressed to restore the resistance to rotational movement.
What is ProPress G?
The Propress G system is a copper press connection sys- tem designed to meet the demands of natural gas and liq- uid propane gas in the vapour state as well as fuel oil sys- tems. Press fittings are manufactured in copper and fittings with BSP threads connections are manufactured in bronze.
Can ProPress be used on hydronic heating?

Can MegaPressG be used on water?
Viega MegaPress is the only press fitting system for black iron pipe that can be installed in both water and gas applications, residential, commercial or industrial.

Is MegaPress rated for underground?
MegaPress FKM systems are approved for underground use and must be protected against corrosion in accordance with NFPA 54 section 404.8, NACE Standard RP0169-2002 section 5, 2009 UPC Chapter 6 section 609.3.

Can you solder next to ProPress fittings? Yes. When soldering next to ProPress fittings, the installer must remain at least three tube diameters away from the connection to prevent damage to the sealing element.
Is ProPress better than solder?
Unlike soldering, ProPress systems do not need an open flame to be completed. This creates a safer work environment and by not requiring a hot work permit, saves time. Another advantage over soldering, ProPress fittings can be installed without having to drain and dry the system beforehand.
