Can you make a death knight?
As of the Visions of N’Zoth update, accounts that own or pre-purchase the Shadowlands expansion are eligible to create Allied Race or Pandaren Death Knight characters. Allied Races are only available if you have completed the required criteria.
Is death knight a good class?
Blood dks are viable take some work to play right but are very viable. If you are wanting a dark knight plate wearer I think DK is one of the most well designed classes in the game style wise.

Yeah but you can’t go out and dps like in dungeons without pulling aggro though, which is what I want. Truth be told, Blood Death Knights have a theme indistinguishable from Arms Warriors but a tad bit less cool. Blood was a dps spec back when DKs were first introduced.

What race can be a death knight?

Can death knights wear mail?
The reason you can’t roll on anything mail/leather or cloth is because they are not meant for DKs. Death Knight armor proficiency is plate. So the only way to roll on gear is if it is plate gear.
