Can I go to the Met without a reservation?
How many tickets do I need to get into The Met? One ticket per person is needed for admission to the Museum. You can either buy a General Admission ticket or make a reservation for entry prior to your visit.

Why is it called the Met?

Can I bring a backpack to The Met?
Small backpacks may be brought into the galleries if they are worn on your front or side. We encourage visitors to bring water in plastic and secure bottles into the Museum.

Does The Met have a free day?
We do not currently offer a free day or night. The Met does participate in the annual Museum Mile Festival, usually held in June, held in June, and offers free evening admission along with other museums on Fifth Avenue.

We suggest the following general admission ticket prices: $25 for adults, $17 for seniors, and $12 for students, but you may pay what you wish. Free for Members, Patrons, and children under 12.
