Can you put a peep sight in a Barnett Vortex?
Barnett does not recommend to shoot this youth model with a release aid as it may wear out the string, though. For better aiming you can get a peep sight served in to the string (the string can be split, so there’s no problem). A peep sight works together with the 3-pin sight for aiming and needs to fit the shooter.
How do you measure your draw length for a bow?
To measure your draw length, stand with your back to a wall stretching your arms out against the wall. Measure the distance from the end of your middle finger to the end of your other middle finger, basically the length of both arms, hands and chest. This measurement, minus 15 then divided by 2, is your draw length.

Why does my peep sight keep falling out?
It flew out for 2 reasons: the peep wasn’t fully tied in and the tube was tied on WAY too short. So I tied the peep in solidly top and bottom and put a new tube on that’s long enough where the peep doesn’t straighten out until the last 1 – 1.5″ of draw. If that tube comes loose, it’ll just flop down no snapping danger.
Do I need a peep sight on my bow?
No, you do not need a peep sight, and you can be just as accurate without one. I use an Anchor Sight to verify my anchor point, and then look left of the string and line up my sight while focusing on the target.
How much does the Barnett vortex Hunter weigh?
The Barnett Vortex Hunter comes set to 60 lbs poundage and a draw length of 28″. As 60 lbs is quite a lot for young bowhunters, you probably have to lower it a bit for starting out. If your kid is already a seasoned pro, you can skip this step.
