The old Chippewa Lake Park has been closed since 1978. It was an inglorious end for a park that had been a getaway for generations of families and had just celebrated its 100th birthday. In ensuing years, nature took over and pretty much consumed everything in its path that vandals and arsonists didn’t destroy.
