RWBY Volume 9 is coming out at some point in 2022. Joey Clary, Co-head of animation at Rooster Teeth, tweeted at the beginning of 2022 that a 2022 release was still in Rooster Teeth’s plans even though CRWBY – as the team working on the anime is fondly called – was delayed by the pandemic.

Thematically Ruby cannot be the Winter Maiden. Both characters who have been the Fall Maiden have names and color associations with Fall. Ruby’s name has no association with Winter, and her color theme is red and silver.
