SCHIENE is designed to provide edging for tile coverings on floors. Is bullnose outdated?
Yes, the bullnose pieces are expensive and, yes, they do add up. So they simply don’t use any bullnose and you’re looking at the edge of the tile as the finished product. Worse still is the DIYer tries to grout the edge to make it look more finished.
How do you transition from tile to carpet?
Cut the edge of the carpet so that it reaches the edge of the tile perfectly. Pull the carpet over the top using a knee kicker. Tuck the extra edge of the carpet under the gap and use the hooks of the transition strip to hold it in place.
