Should I lower my car before buying new wheels?
If you buy an aftermarket set of wheels without lowering your car the wheel gap will kill the whole look of your car. Plus, if you don’t lower the car first, chances are your fitment will change and your wheels may not fit anymore.
What does staggered rims mean?
A staggered fitment is also referred to as a staggered application. Basically, it means that the wheels on the back of the vehicle are a different size than those on the front. Wider wheels are usually run on the back, for example a 19×8 on the front and 19×9. 5 on the rear.
Why you should lower your car?
Because lowering means getting stiffer springs, there is less weight transfer when you hit the gas or brake hard. This means you’ll enjoy faster acceleration and quicker stops. Lowered vehicles are more aerodynamic. There’s less air hitting the wheels and tires (that are not streamlined shapes).
What does the J mean on a wheel?

The letter “J” means a tyre bead profile. This is the marking used to define the wheel collar profile you should never ignore. Wheel collars and tyres must be compatible.
Are rims stamped with size?
You can find all the information you need about your rim size stamped on the rims themselves. The rim size markings are typically located on the back of the hub on the rim. Since it’s on the back, away from plain sight, you might need to exert a little effort to get a good look at the markings.
