Can you put EPDM over EPDM?
Type 1 is a fully-adhered EPDM roof. This means that the EPDM has been applied over the insulation with an adhesive. Since the roof is fully-adhered, spray foam can be applied right over the top of the existing EPDM roof.
Can you double layer EPDM?
For flat roofs, materials such as EPDM and TPO are usually approved for use up to two layers.
Does EPDM have to be glued down?
When you are fitting an EPDM roof, you need to make sure that it is glued down properly. During the membrane application process, you will need to apply two different types of adhesive. The first is a water-based adhesive. Use Permaroof deck adhesive for the best results.
What is a parapet capping?
Parapet capping is the usual solution for preventing rain from entering a structure from the top of a parapet. While there may be different ways to construct a parapet wall, capping installation pretty much follows the same basic principle.
Can EPDM be joined?
Yes all of our EPDM membranes can be joined where the roof is bigger than the largest membrane size or where it would be easier to install the membrane in smaller sections.
What is a metal parapet cap?
A metal parapet cap is used when you have a wall that has metal panels on both sides of the wall. The parapet cap covers the wall and both ends of the metal panels. It creates a uniform look and prevents water intrusion.
What is a cap flashing detail?
This cap flashing detail combines elements of Detail 9.3F and Detail 9.3G. A reglet is used to hold the continuous cleat in place, thus eliminating the need for wood blocking. This cleat is bent down over front face of the coping.
What size do parapet wall caps come in?
Parapet Wall Caps are custom fabricated to any measurements and it usually measure 10′ in length but can also be bent in 12′ lengths. We also manufacture radius parapet wall caps and can match any profile.
How does a parapet cover work?
On the roof side, the cover is locked into a standing seam parapet cover. This cover, in turn, laps over base flashing which is cleated to the roof deck or a nailing strip.
