Can you hunt Heyburn State Park?

Are campfires allowed at Heyburn State Park?
Campfires are allowed in designated areas only! All pets must be kept on a leash and not be left unattended. Pets are not allowed on beaches except for designated areas (not all parks have designated areas); Campers are responsible to clean up after their pet. Not all facilities allow pets.

Round Lake State Park is open year-round, the winter road is now open which enters the park east of the Main entrance at the bottom of the hill, directly across from Blue Sky Rd. Winter activities include snowshoeing, cross country skiing, fat tire riding, sledding and ice fishing.

Heyburn Lake is a great spot for fishing, especially for catfish. Flathead catfish as large as 30 pounds have been caught from the lake. Largemouth bass, crappie, and sunfish are also commonly caught from Heyburn Lake.

It was fascinating to learn that Heyburn was considered for National Park status and the way the park is set up, it’s almost like going through a mini National Park. Lots of trails to choose from.
Are there any campsites in Heyburn?
Hawleys Landing Campground and Chatcolet Campground are available for reservations. Benewah Campground is a first-come first-served campground. Heyburn State Park has three rental cottages which are available year round. There is a three night minimum stay weekends and holidays. Each two bedroom cottage sleeps up to eight people.
