Can you camp in Craters of the Moon?

Can you camp at Crater Lake for free?
There is plenty of dispersed camping near Crater Lake National Park because its almost entirely surrounded by Fremont Winema National Forest and Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest. These forests allow dispersed camping up to 14 days.
Is camping allowed at Crater Lake?
Yes, camping is allowed inside Crater Lake National Park. You can choose from camping at Mazama Campground or Lost Creek Campground inside the park or explore one of the park’s five backcountry campgrounds.
Is Craters of the Moon National Park worth visiting?
Although off the beaten path, Craters of the Moon is worth a quick visit if you are in the area on a road trip or as a day trip from Sun Valley. We were able to explore much of the park during our two hour visit and it was worth the slight detour on our road trip to see the unusual landscape and explore Indian Tunnel.
Does Lava Flow Campground fill up?
There are no hook-ups of any kind, very little if any shade and every site is made from crushed lava. There are flush toilets however and the roads are all paved.
How much does Craters of the Moon cost?
The Visitor Center is open 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily, with extended summer hours and closed on winter holidays. The entrance fee is $15 per vehicle. Those entering by bicycle or foot pay $7 per person. Individuals age 15 and under enter free.
Can you sleep in your car in Crater Lake National Park?
During the winter, overnight parking is allowed only at Park Headquarters.

Can you sleep in your car at Crater Lake?
You cannot overnight inside of most National Parks in your car, but you can in the National Forests than surround them. There are two “dispersed camping” areas- Twin Lakes and a shelter. Typically you just need to be 250′ away from a road.
How many days do you need at Craters of the Moon?
over a year ago. I’d say you should plan on spending 3 – 4 hours there depending on how much you care to see. We had an 88 and 86 year old with us so we just did a few short trails and the younger ones climbed the hill. We were too early in the season to view the caves.
How long does it take to go through Craters of the Moon?

Can you drive an RV through Craters of the Moon?
The road and parking lot can accept and RV and when we were there, a number of school buses brought children to the site, but to tow and have to maneuver would be very difficult.
