How is a shoulder holster supposed to fit?
The straps of the shoulder holster should be snug on your shoulders but shouldn’t be tight. They should allow for relatively uninhibited movement of the arms. Obviously, you’re wearing a harness on your shoulders; it’s not as if it will never feel as if it isn’t there.
How do holster sizes work?
Holster sizing is based off of trigger guard and frame size, rather than specific features of one given make/model. In the diagram below, look closely to the left side of each holster. The yellow dotted line indicates where the sew line is located for each holster size.

What holster should I get?
Kydex. Kydex and other rigid plastics are excellent holster materials. They’re tough, can be molded into just about any shape and really protect the weapon. Their rigidity also makes them ideal for holsters with retention systems.
How Loose Should a holster be?
A proper holster will fit your gun snugly, but not overly tight. Your handgun should slide smoothly from the holster. No part of the slide or frame should catch or rub on the holster which can hinder your draw. Additionally, you’ll want the firearm to remain stationary in your holster during regular movements.
Is shoulder holster good for concealed carry?
However, shoulder holsters aren’t just for TV, they can be an extremely effective method of concealed carry, especially if you’re a jacket wearer.
