Sales success for 'Cheri' worldwide in Cannes May 30, 2008
According Variety, Pathe Intl. has confirmed healthy sales on Stephen Frears' "Cheri,"
In all, the U.K.-French sales company announced 75 Croisette-struck licensing deals on 16 films. Introduced to buyers at Cannes, the Christopher Hampton-scripted "Cheri," starring Michelle Pfeiffer, Rupert Friend, Felicity Jones and Kathy Bates, closed a dozen deals.
Major territories included Italy (Rai Cinema), Latin America (California Filmes), the CIS (Maywin Media) and South Korea (Mars Cinema).
As Scarlett Johannson drops her new CD of Tom Waits covers —Anywhere I Lay My Head—, Entertainment Weekly looks back at 25 other big-screen stars who've carried a pretty tune, and among them is our Michelle Pfeiffer and her pic in Grease 2 (although she is remembered by her three musical movies). About her, they have said:
Michelle Pfeiffer | Grease 2
When it comes to singing in films, Michelle Pfeiffer is a pro, notably so in The Fabulous Baker Boys and Hairspray. So why are we giving her kudos for Grease 2? Easy: On ''Cool Rider,'' she manages to make cringe-worthy lyrics — ''Just give me a fine motorcycle / With a man growin' out of the seat / And move aside, 'cause I'm gonna ride'' — actually sound kinda sexy.
Other actors on the list are: Catherine Zeta-Jones in Chicago; Ewan McGregor and Nicole Kidman in Moulin Rouge; Reese Witherspoon in Walk the Line; Meryl Streep in A Prairie Home Companion and Anne Hathaway in Ella Enchanted among others.

"Cheri" advances in Cannes 2008 and next to be completed. May 15, 2008
Accoding Idie Wire, Stephen Frears' "Cheri," which is premiering clips in the Cannes Market, is moving to Cologne, Germany next week to complete production.
Starring Michelle Pfeiffer, Rupert Friend and Kathy Bates, the film is adapted from Colette's famous novel by "Atonement" screenwriter Christopher Hampton. "Cheri" tells the story of a love affair between a retired courtesan (Pfeiffer) and the son (Friend) of her old colleague and rival (Bates). "'Cheri' has been a long time in gestation but we have now put together a first class team on both sides of the camera," commented producer Bill Kenwright in a statement. "I am confident that we will have a stunning film with universal appeal." The film shot on locations in Biarritz and Paris in the past few months, and will finish production in Cologne, readying itself for international distribution at the end of 2008.
Miramax will handle the film in the US, while Pathe will distribute in the UK and France, as well as handling "Cheri"'s international sales.
According my brother Bond in his page, Insight Film Studios Ltd, the production company of Michelle's next movie "Personal Effects", says the movie will likely be released near the end of this summer.
And besides, according Cine & Tele, the movie will be released in Spain by Wide Pictures, a newborn Spanish distribution company created by ex-president and founder of Manga Films, Luis de Val.

Michelle Pfeiffer's Catwoman at Metropolitan Museum of Art May 6, 2008
"Superheroes: Fashion and Fantasy" runs at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York from May 7 to September 1 with an opening red-carpet gala on Monday night that was to include former "Batman" star George Clooney and actress Julia Roberts alongside designer Giorgio Armani. Sadly our Michelle Pfeiffer didn't attend the event.
The exhibit examines how Superman, Batman, Spider-Man and others have influenced big-name fashion designers. The feminine figure is represented by characters such as Wonder Woman and Catwoman.
In the mirrored exhibition hall, superhero costumes are juxtaposed with the fashion they have influenced, largely a collection of active sportswear and outlandish garb more fit for a Halloween party than a night out at the theater.
Among the costumes on display is the Pfeiffer's remarkably slim black catsuit from 1992's "Batman Returns," and in addition there are real-world examples of dominatrix-style outfits by Mugler and Dolce & Gabbana.

Michelle Pfeiffer on the list of the "Most Beautiful" of People May 1, 2008
Michelle Pfeiffer comes back to be among the "Most Beatiful People on the World" according the famous list of People magazine, with Kate Hudson on the cover.
Let's remember Michelle was the cover of the first edition of this list in 1990, and would repeat in 1999. During all those years she was in the list uninterruptedly. On the other hand, we have to say, the list not only look at the beauty of people, but also it measures the grade of fame of the stars. So if Michelle has been way of the big-screen the latest years, she has been out of the list...
Also let's talk that Michelle Pfeiffer was the only star, alongside Julia Roberts (2000-2005), being cover twice.
