the future of 'I Could Never Be Your Woman'... on Dvd
December 30, 2007 |
It seems that the future of 'I Could Never Be Your Woman' (the longly waited movie to be released on cinemas, and the movie which had been the great return of Pfeiffer) with also Paul Rudd has been decided.
The movie will be finally released, but on DVD in February 12, 2008, I guess they have choosen this date because it is next to Valentine's Day and such we all know it is a perfect romantic comedy for this date.
According RottenTomatoes site, the distribution company will be Genius Productions, Inc. Let's remember that we reported some time go the movie went out on auction. I guess this "small" (¿?) company will have bought the film to launch in USA.
Now, I feel happy because the trip of this "damned" movie has finally finished. Although I know it is not a good news. NO! I know (for me and rest of pfans) that it is a mistake, nd I feel so so sad!.
Such as many of you know, I love this movie (it is not for an Oscar) but I've always thought it is so shinning and positive!... funny and entertainment. YES. It could have been a "little" success for Michelle and the rest of pfans.
Sadly I feel so so dissapointed. I had the chance of watching the movie on big screen (on Spain). I know American Pfans won't be able to see these wonderful chamaleonic faces of Michelle on cinemas...

Velma Von Tussle won't be
at Golden Globes
December 14, 2007 |
The
waited nominations for the Golden Globes of this
year were announced yesterday and finally Michelle
Pfeiffer did not get any nomination for
her performance as Velma Von Tussle in Hairspray.
so now we can sadly think that she will not get
any Oscar nomination this year.
According our pfriend and pfan Jaws (wrote at the Pforum)
because the studio did not promoted Pfeiffer as
supporting role, the critics liked but not LOVED
Michelle performance and also, the huge competition
this year in the comedy cathegory (one of the
best ever ).
On the other hand, the good news are that the
Hollywood Foreign Press Association have honored Hairspray with 3 big nominations included: Best
Motion Picture - Musical Or Comedy; Best
Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture: Nikki Blonsky and Best Performance by an Actor
In A Supporting Role in a Motion Picture: John Travolta.
Since here our congratulations to Nikki &
John, Craig Zadan, Neil Meron, Adam Shankman and
the cast & crew of Hairspray!
Let's remember the Golden Globes
are scheduled for January 13, 2008, at the Beverly
Hilton in Beverly Hills, California... Will Michelle
Pfeiffer present any award this year? ...
I'd really love!

'I Could Never Be Your Woman'
Worldwide Box Office
December 13, 2007 |
The waited non-released
(in USA) romantic-comedy with Michelle
Pfeiffer, I
Could never Be Your Woman has already
got the first facts of box-office on the world,
or at least on the little countries where the
movie has been already launched. They are been
just 13 to date and made $6,178,499.
Maybe this amount is not so much (for many people),
but we should think that the release has been
very limited, so this amount is nothing bad at
all.
At the moment two new countries will be added
to this short list: Ukraine (according our pfriend and pfan Igor who has already watched the trailer with the "coming
soon" at cinemas) and UK where it is scheduled to be released the upcoming
February 8, 2008 .
Belgium and Luxembourg 7/18/07
$596,569 9/2/07
Brazil 9/21/07 $1,193,560 12/9/07
Greece 9/20/07 $176,894 9/30/07
Hungary 12/6/07 $58,606 12/9/07
Latvia 12/7/07 $13,870 12/9/07
Lithuania 12/7/07
$23,581 12/9/07
Netherlands 11/29/07
$134,185 12/9/07
Poland 11/9/07 $629,098 11/25/07
Portugal and Angola 7/19/07 $533,676 9/23/07
Russia - CIS 11/29/07
$157,967 12/2/07
Spain 5/11/07 $2,302,917 7/1/07
Taiwan 6/13/08 n/a
n/a
Turkey 10/19/07 $357,576 12/2/07
Total: $6,178,499 (since May 1, 2007)
As we can see, Spain showed the biggest love
to this movie than other countries! But I think
there are several reasons for it:
When the movie was released in Spain, Stardust and Hairspray had not been released yet in USA (or on the World)
so most of media announced the movie as the great
return of Michelle after five years far the big
screen.
Although it was distributed in Spain by a little/independent
company, DeAplaneta,
it was good announced on women magazines and newspapers
that week. And it could have been better if the
production company, Bauer
Martinez, had offered interviews with Michelle,
promotion of the movie to publish on more mags
or television... anyway people in Spain use love
Michelle, and simply her name does people enter
the cinema... ad of course (for me!) the movie
is so so funny!
It can explain beause other countries hasn't
got better results with this movie: maybe because
the dates were too next to big productions such
us Stardust or Hairspray which were launched as the true return of Michelle
in USA and the rest of countries and besides ,
I guess the most important reason because the
most of little-independent distributors who has
launched the movie have done very little releases
in the countries, no reports, no magazines...
etc... You can guess: NO MARKETING - NO MONEY...
and go on.
This movie could get tons of money (stars, entertainment,
lots of fun...) ... but it look like the producers
don't look for win it... and it is really a pity.

'I Could never Be Your Woman'
copyright on auction
December 7, 2007 |
According Lauren
Horwitch from the actor's resource BackStage, SAG Seeks Missing Residuals
With Film Auction.

The Screen Actors Guild will hold a public auction Dec. 11 to cash in
some of its claims on producers who owe actors
residuals. The auction will be held at the guild's
headquarters in Los Angeles.
According to a statementon the union's website,
SAG will auction the copyrights to 14 titles,
including the non-released movie by Amy
Heckerling I
Could Never Be Your Woman with Michelle
Pfeiffer, among other titles such as Abel Ferrara's 1995 vampire pic The
Addiction.
SAG deputy general counsel Will
Bensussen explained that in order to ensure
payment to SAG members, producers agree to give
the union a security interest in their projects'
copyrights. Should the producer or production
company renege on paying residuals, SAG can foreclose
on the film and sell the copyright.
According Bensussen the new copyright owner "can
do whatever they want with [the film]."
However, SAG insists that the new copyright owner
sign a new security agreement with SAG so that
members retain the right to be paid should the
film be sold or redistributed. He added that many
different industry professionals attend such auctions,
including independent producers, distributors,
and even cast members of the films being auctioned.
So maybe it is the time of American public can
see finally Michelle Pfeiffer in this waited movie. Let's hope...

New images of 'Personal
effects' set
December 4, 2007 |
Today can see new images
of the filming set of the new movie of Michelle
Pfeiffer and Ashton
Kutcher, Personal
Effects. The pics where taken yesterday
in Vancouver.

Click on the image to see the shots of the filming
set
The images come from FlynetOnline,
the news says: "Michelle
Does Funky Chicken: If
the title of the flick, Personal Effects doesn't
grab your attention, maybe the fact that Ashton
Kutcher flirts with Michelle Pfeiffer while wearing
a chicken costume does. We snapped some behind
the scenes photos today on set in Vancouver while
Ashton got his giant chicken on. Great, now I'm
hungry. Excuse me, I gotta make a quick run to
Church's."
On these new pics we can see a normal look of
Michelle —into her character— (refferring
the absurd buzzs of the last week)

First images of Michelle
filming 'Personal Effects' in Vancouver
December 1, 2007 |
Such as we reported
these last days, the filming of the new movie Personal
Effects with Michelle
Pfeiffer and Ashton
Kutcher started the past 26 of November
in Vancouver.
We have already got the very first images on
the set, where we all can already see the new
image of how Michelle will look on the movie,
her new look: now with shorter hair and bangs
(let's remember that Michelle didn't wear bangs
since Dangerous
Minds days). These shots were taken
the past 29 of November.

Click on the image to see the shots of the filming
set
On the other hand, the absurd newspaper Daily
Mail dedicated to false buzz has published
a news where they just talk about "The
picture that reveals Michelle Pfeiffer's age has
finally caught up with her", in which
they are basing on a simple shot of Michelle with
a bad lighting in her face by the sun... and of
course her face shows the normal wrinkle... naturally!
Fucking Daily-Mail!!, they
have said: "Only months
after wowing onlookers with her age-defying looks
on the red carpet, it appears not even Michelle
Pfeiffer is immune to the ravages of time.
This picture shows the actress
on the set of her latest film "Personal
Effects", looking somewhat more haggard
than at her last public appearance. The actress,
49, recently stunned crowds at the premiere of
Stardust, looking just as gorgeous as she did
when she shot to fame in the early 80's.
But it looks as though
time may have finally caught up with her as she
rehearsed for her new role, dressed in an unflattering
oversized coat and wearing little make-up."
Really absurd... and a easy way of attepmt of
discredit to someone.
Dear Daily Mail, it is really sad that you have
been able to get more interesting news... please,
use glasses... now you can look at the face of Michelle Pfeiffer... |
