Michelle Pfeiffer will make a cameo
in 'The Prince & The Pauper'
December 31, 2006
It
looks like the last day of the year
comes loaded of great news. As this
new year will be released three
new films starred by Michelle Pfeiffer,
I Could Never
Be Your Woman, Strardust
and Hairspray,
now we have to add a new release
for this year, it is The
Prince & The Pauper remake
where Michelle will make a cameo
accordig to MovieHole.net.
The movie produced by Sony
Pictures is currently shooting
in West Palm Beach, Florida, and
will be until Christmas (according
Imdb.com,
the movie is already in post-production).
It’ll be squeezed onto a 2007
release schedule shortly. The Executive
Production is being done by Jonathan
Krane who was behind the
“Look
Who’s Talking”
movies, and it's being directed
by James Quattrochi.
Other big name associated with the
project is executive producer Bobby
Moresco, producer of the
triple Oscar-winner Crash.
The
film is inspired by Mark
Twain’s vintage yarn
about a prince and a beggar trading
places and it's starred by the tiny
twosome from Adam
Sandler pic “Big
Daddy”, siblings Cole
and Dylan
Sprouse (who are considered
the male version of the more famous
Mary-Kate
and Ashley
Olsen) as the prince and
the pauper and co-starred by Ed
Lauter (“Not
Another Teen Movie”),
Sally Kellerman,
Vincent Spano
(“Silence”),
Dean Cain
and Dedee
Pfeiffer, Michelle's sister,
who had already coincided with her
in Into The
Night, Frankie
& Johnny and Up
Close & Personal.
'Stardust' in 10 must-see films
of 2007 list
December 30, 2006
According MovieHole.netStardust
is one of the main movies (it is
placed on the second place) to see
in 2007. Site-colaborator Clint
Morris has done a list with
the "10
MUST-SEE FILMS OF 2007",
he writes:
"It’s
funny, I’m always going on
about my barefaced dislike for sequels,
remakes, prequels and spin-offs,
and yet here, on my ‘Must
See’ List for 2007 are a bunch
of ‘em.
I guess the
difference – well, I hope
so anyway – is that these
sequels, things like “Spider-Man
3”,
will actually deliver (judging by
what we’ve seen on them so
far, it seems they do) unlike things
like “X-Men
3”,
“Pirates
of the Caribbean 2”
and “The
Grudge 2”
which were all about as tasty as
a satay chicken milkshake. And aside
from the fact that there will always
be an interest factor with such
films (especially films like the
“Halloween”
remake), I’m also of the belief
that this sequel/remake trend isn’t
going anywhere, so I might as well
accept it, and try and sort the
gold from the bronze."
And so he has placed Stardust
on the 2nd place behind Quentin
Tarantino's Grindhouse: "#2.
Stardust
- Saw some footage of this recently,
and I tell ya, this looks grand
– “Princess
Bride”
grand. Neil
Gaiman’s
richly-coloured fairytale looks
like it’s going to be a delight
for the whole family, and with its
all-star cast (Robert
De Niro,
Michelle
Pfeiffer,
Claire
Danes),
I’m already betting it’ll
be one of the big hits of 2007.
Considering co-star Ricky
Gervais
has turned down a few hundred scripts
since cracking it with “The
Office”,
this must be OK."

Michelle Pfeiffer, one of the faces
to watch in 2007
December 30, 2006
According
USAWeekend.com
in its the New
Year special Edition, Michelle
Pfeiffer will be one of the
"Faces
to watch in 2007", so
it's titled the article.
Lorrie Lynch,
the journalist, writes: "Dear
readers: Every week, I keep you
up-to-date on your favorite stars.
This week, I bring you a look at
some people you need to know in
the coming year. Now, go dazzle
friends with your knowledge at that
New Year's brunch. And have a happy
2007. "
"Michelle
Pfeiffer is back. She hasn't
been seen onscreen in five years
because she has been raising her
two kids. But Pfeiffer, 48, is in
three '07 films. First, there's
a February romantic comedy, "I
Could Never Be Your Woman,"
then a July fantasy, "Stardust,"
co-starring Robert De Niro, followed
by the summer musical "Hairspray,"
with John Travolta."

'I
Could Never Be Your Woman' without
release date nor distributor
December 20, 2006
Then
a long wait to the release of the
movie, now I
Could Never Be Your Woman
hasn't release date, it is unknown.
March 2nd has been scrapped, and
will not be moved back to Valentine's
Day.
On the other hand the distributor
has been changed from MGM to unknown....
really all this thing is too rare.
I guess all this can come from
the latest troubles into Bauer
Martinez company. The past
December 13, I read some news, according
Variety
site, which said that just a year
after Philippe
Martinez opened his film
company, Bauer
Martinez Entertainment, and
announced his intention to build
the biggest indie studio in Hollywood,
the company is downsizing: About
20% of the company's 35-person staff
has been let go, the studio confirmed.
It is ue to the poor box office
performance of the company's last
two films, "National
Lampoon's Van Wilder: The Rise of
Taj" and "Harsh
Times."
The
pics were both released via MGM
though a three-picture distribution
pact Bauer Martinez has with the
studio. Under the pact, MGM has
the option to put up the P&A
for the films, though confusion
over those terms affected the marketing
campaign for "Harsh
Times." As reported,
MGM had originally expected Bauer
to pay for the film's marketing,
but ultimately it was MGM that paid.
That misunderstanding, as well as
issues related to Bauer clearing
the rights to the film, caused a
delay in publicity.
And Variety
also commented that MGM is also
releasing the upcoming Bauer Martinez
pic "I
Could Never Be Your Woman,"
starring Michelle
Pfeiffer. But after that
film is released, it is not expected
the two companies will continue
to do business together.
So I don't know if finally the
movie will be released by MGM or
not. If we were so glad with the
release of the wonderful movie trailer,
now that happiness is being obscured
for this news.
Finally
'I could Never Be Your Woman' releases
its trailer!!.
December 15, 2006
Hey Pfans, we can see the trailer
of I Could Never Be Your Woman...
I've just to do and really it is
so so funny!! Enjoy!

More
about Michelle Pfeiffer in the 'Stardust'
tests-screening
December 4, 2006
And today, a new review about
the first 'Stardust'
tests-screening has been published
at Ain't
It Cool News. Now it's
Moriarty
(one of the web-colaborators and
who visited the filming set) who
writes. You can read the fabulous
full article clicking
here.
The following part are the referred
ones to Michelle
in the review:
"Michelle
Pfeifferas
the witch queen as also phenomenal.
I truly enjoyed watching her, but
who doesn’t? Though you recognize
her immediately under all that makeup
– as long as that woman has
those phenomenal eyes, no makeup
department in the universe will
ever be able to fully disguise her
– when she’s in scary
witch mode she’s freakin’
terrifying. The way she pulled off
her act of manipulation during the
climactic battle was so cruel and
perfect I wanted to stand up and
applaud. One thing that was interesting
is how she uses her entire body
to convey balefulness when she’s
in full-on witch mode. She hunched,
swaggered, moved like a creature
of immense power and arrogance.
It was great. The only other time
I remember her doing something similar
was in one of those “Batman”
movies."
Whe he talks about the relationships
in the movie, about the witches
he says: "The
witch sisters, lead by Pfeiffer,
convey a sense of competitive rivalry
and intra-group duty that anyone
who has siblings will recognize."
And about the movie in fact he
says: "'Stardust'
is a fun movie. It’s romantic
in a way that is not irritating,
it has a huge sense of adventure,
it’s not boring, the acting
is great. When the special effects
are in, it’s going to be even
cooler. You can safely put this
on your list of things to see once
they’re done with it. But
if you’re a fan of the book,
don’t go in expecting to see
the book."
Thanks Juanita
for providing the info.
Good
reviews for the 'Stardust' first
tests-screening
December 3, 2006
Ain't
It Cool News site has
got two reviews of the Stardust's
test-screening. The two guys who
write saw an early cut of the giant
Fantasy Epic and that this is far
from being the version we'll see
in theaters next July and both of
the reviews the site has so far
are positive.
You
can read the full two reviews at
Ain't
It Cool News web. Here,
you can read the parts I've saved
where they referred Michelle
Pfeiffer. It seems Michelle
could steal the show again!
According the first review, it
says:
"There's
not much I can negatively say about
this film. They called it a 'rough
cut,' but other than the unfinished
effects, this film looked ready
for theatres."
"Basically,
this feels like a close cousin to
Princess
Bride,
only with a decent budget. That
same tongue-in-cheek spirit is at
play here, but it never takes away
from the suspense."
"There
was a great balance of humor and
action and it all came across very
organically."
When he describes the plot, he
says about Lamia, "played
by an over-the-top Michelle
Pfeiffer"
"The
casting was top-notch, and there
are no real 'look, there's so-and-so'
moments. Sure, De
Niro,
Danes,
Gervais,
and Pfeiffer
are all big names, but they're so
pitch-perfectly cast that they own
their characters. The chemistry
is everywhere it should be, between
Yvaine and Tristan, between Tristan
and Dunstan, between Lamia and her
sisters, and between Septimus and
his brothers. This movie reignited
my crush for Claire
Danes,
who was everything a star should
be: sharp and radiant. The big surprise
was Charlie
Cox,
whom I'm not familiar with. He carried
this film splendidly, and his transformation
from kid to hero was gradual and
very believable. He was likeable,
and easy to root for. Mark
Strong
carried a strength and menace as
Septimus, and Michelle
Pfeiffer
pulled off the wicked and sinister
Lamia. But it wasn't just the principals,
but everyone, who made this movie
work, and at no point did I think,
'So-and-so would've been much better
for that part.'"
"I think
I've rambled on long enough. It's
safe to say that I loved the film
and hope that they don't touch the
cut I saw, just polish it a little.
The tone is perfect Gaiman,
and the movie will appeal to kids
and their parents without either
feeling out of their realm. There's
nothing dumbed-down about this film,
despite its family-friendliness.
This is my favorite fantasy offering
since Lord
of the Rings
and I'll be standing in line the
day it comes to theatres."
The scond review sorter also talks
about Michelle:
"Michelle
Pfeiffer
as the evil witch Lamia chews scenery
throughout most of the film, though
the early scenes in which she exposits
on the plot with her two equally
witchy sisters goes on for far too
long and should be cut"
I hope it has been enought interesting
to don't be able to wait to see
the film!

GWEN
STEFANI GOES ON THE STYLE OF PFEIFFER
FROM SCARFACE
November 26, 2006
MICHELLE GAME
Stefani says her latest stylistic
muse is Pfeiffer's drug-addled bombshell
from Scarface
As
it was said in the last September,
Gwen Stefany
inspired on Michelle
Pfeiffer's ScarfaceElvira
for her latest fashion collection
presentation.
And now Gwen comes back to use
the look of Michelle on the movie
for the cover of her new CD, The
Sweet Escape, in stores the
next December 5.
When Stefany was asked why does
the cover find her dressed in the
style of Michelle
Pfeiffer's drugged-out gangster's
moll, Elvira, from Brian
De Palma's blood-drenched
1983 classic, Scarface?
The
answer to this conundrum is connected
to the clean-living, gym-frequenting,
new-mommying Stefani's obvious delight
in being ever-so-slightly naughty.
(She repeatedly uses the phrase
''coke whore'' to describe her newfound
fashion muse — and does so
with a mischievous smirk.) But,
more specifically, the idea came
to the singer early last year while
shooting the video for her single
''Cool'' in Lake Como, Italy. Also
on hand: Tony
Kanal, 36 — No Doubt's
bassist and, many moons previously,
a teenage Gwen Renee Stefani's first
boyfriend — and Kanal's current
steady, Erin
Lokitch. ''She had on this
long, peach, polyester dress,''
Stefani recalls. ''I was looking
at her silhouette going, 'You look
so hot.' It was probably a late-'70s
dress, and I started thinking about
Michelle Pfeiffer
and how amazingly styled she was
[in Scarface].''

"StaRDUST": CHANGE OF
DATE OF RELEASE
November 7, 2006
According
Boxofficemojo.com,
the new date of release fore Stardust
will be July,
Friday 27, 2007. Let remember
it was March 9, 2007 untill now.
Stardust
will compete now with the big screen
version of The
Simpsons, the comedy Lars
and the Real Girl with Ryan
Gosling and distributed by
MGM
but into a limited release.
Actually I prefer this date to
release. I
Could Never Be Your Woman
will be released in February 2007,
and March would be a date too near,
so I think it is the best option.
Thanks Juanita
for the info.

TRAVOLTA AND PFEIFFER filmed the
grand finale of "Hairspray".
October 30, 2006
A
thrilled and exhausted John
Travolta finally finished
filming his role as Edna
Turnblad in the big screen
version of Hairspray
in the early hours of Saturday morning,
October 28.
The Grease
star spent the past week filming
the grand finale, "You
Can't Stop The Beat"
with Michelle
Pfeiffer, Christopher
Walken and newcomer Nikki
Blonsky.
While that scene caps Travolta's
involvement, the film's shoot continues
through early December and it is
expected in theaters next summer.
Travolta
had to endure four hours of prep
time before putting in eight hours
of performing in padding and silicone
prosthetics to play the generously
proportioned Turnblad. He says,
"When
you have all that dancing to do
and a level to live up to, you just
go for it and forget the suit. But
when that number is over, you're
gasping. It may be called You Can't
Stop the Beat, but I call it You
Can't Find Your Breath."Travolta
is thrilled to be able to get back
to his normal routine adding, "You
feel like you are coming out of
a prison. It's such a relief to
get air again to the skin and breathe
again. The discomfort level was
astonishing. The effect that I caused
is fun and all, but it's a lot of
work, man!"
Neil Gaiman and Charles Vess interviewed
in the Comic-on
October 23, 2006
ComingSoon.net's Superhero
Hype! had a chance to
sit down with Neil
Gaiman and Charles
Vess at this year's Comic-Con
International in San Diego
to discuss Stardust
and the other projects on which
they've been working. You can see
the whole article cliking
here. And here, in PfeifferTheFace
you can see the quotes reffered
to the movie and Michelle
Pfeiffer:
About
the right time for Stardust
to be made into a movie, Gaiman
answered, "I
think partly because we've actually
entered a world in which studios
are not quite as scared of fantasy
as they used to be. They're still
not entirely comfortable with it.
As recently as two or three years
ago, I had the head of a major studio
explaining to me and believing what
he was saying that people don't
like fantasy films. And I said to
him, "But hang on. What about
Lord
of the Rings?
The Harry
Potters?
If you list down the top 15, top
20 biggest grossing films in history.
Shrek? They're all as I would think
of as fantasy films". And he
said, "Well, no, that's not
fantasy. They're just their own
things". I think we're now
actually at the point where people
and major studios are a lot less
scared just of the idea of fantasy.
In all honesty, I don't think that
the viewing public has ever had
a problem with fantasy. I don't
think of Stardust
as being any more of a fantasy than
the original Disney "Snow
White,"
in terms of what it demands from
an audience. You need to understand
that some witches can be wicked.
You need to understand that you
have some young princess that are
heirs to the throne who are trying
to kill each other, and that everyone's
out to get a fallen star, who happens
not to be a lump of meteoric metal,
but to be a very beautiful young
lady with a broken leg and a foul
temper, who has no desire to be
dragged half way across the world
and presented to anybody's girlfriend.
At the end of the day, it's a love
story and it's an adventure and
all of those things. I don't know
that it would of ever been made
though, if it wasn't for the fact
that Matthew
Vaughn
read it, loved it, wanted to make
it, went out to the investors who
put the money into "Snatch"
and "Lock,
Stock"
and "Layer
Cake"
and said 'I'm going to make a big
budget fantasy movie now. Trust
me'."
About how he has been involved
with the film, he said, "I
was very involved in that the most
important thing that I did was I
went out and I found a writer who
I liked and trusted and put her
together with Matthew.
I don't really believe that a writer
ought to barbeque their own babies.
We get precious. We miss the things
that are important and strain on
the things that aren't, and also,
we know why we did that the first
time, and we can't always see another
way around."
Then
they asked to Charles
Vess: And how about yourself,
Charles? You obviously have a very
distinctive art style, and I wasn't
sure how that might translate to
real people, but then I saw the
picture of Michelle
Pfeiffer on the chariot pulled
by goats, and he said, "I've
been trying to figure out how to
put it into words, but the best
thing is that Stardust
is a very large world and I built
my Stardust
over there, and they built their
Stardust
over here, and they both co-exist,
but they're different visually.
It's got the same spirit. It made
me very happy to see what they've
done. It had some very talented
people working on it, and I don't
see any problem with re-interpreting
anything as long as you've got really
keen minds on it." also
Gaiman
answered, "I
don't really mind that she [Lamia]
doesn't have black hair and a red
dress. Now she has blonde hair [Pfeiffer]
and a green dress. It's fine. You
don't look at her going, "Oh
my God. Why isn't she drawn the
way that Charlie's was." You
look at her going, "There's
Michelle
Pfeiffer
and she's amazing, and she's the
scariest thing I've ever seen on
screen!"
Costello Tagliapetra would like
dress to Michelle Pfeiffer
October 23, 2006
Brooklyn's
Jeffrey Costello
and Robert
Tagliapietra are two fashion
designers, they have just completed
their fifth and most intricate collection
to date. From their Carroll Gardens
studio, they wax poetic on inspirations
from The Smiths
to Anne Sexton.
In an interview to Style.com
they answered to the question "who
would you like to dress that you
haven't yet?": They
said "Michelle
Pfeiffer
is our dream girl, hands down! who
demonstrates the fluidity of a jersey
dress while singing atop a piano
in The Fabulous Baker Boys."
Creating
the videogame adaptation of Brian
De Palma's gangster-film
classic Scarface
presented one major problem: how
to get players interested in a story
in which the main character dies
at the end. Which is why the game's
developers hired screenwriter David
McKenna (Blow,
American
History X) to concoct a somewhat
preposterous scenario that has Tony
Montana surviving the movie's climactic
shootout with Sosa's henchmen and
ultimately rebuilding his Miami
empire, taking down his enemies,
and — if he accumulates enough
money — purchasing the urns
containing the ashes of Manny and
Gina. Seriously. So it's back to
the streets for Tony...
Fortunately,
the gameplay rises above the storyline.
And so what if Scarface's
F-bomb-laden mix of open-world driving
and shooting takes a page from Grand
Theft Auto? Much of GTA's best elements
are seemingly ''inspired'' by the
1983 film. The game shines in its
attention to details: The licensed
music from bands like Blondie
and AC/DC
sets the right tone, and the game's
difficulty and pacing will appeal
to both hardcore and casual players.
Also notable is the ''Balls Meter,''
an on-screen gauge that builds as
Tony taunts various ''cockroaches''
after taking them down. Once the
meter tops off, he goes into an
invincible first-person rage mode
that replenishes his health. This
is a game that almost giddily earns
its M rating.
Still,
there were a few problems as noticeable
as Michelle
Pfeiffer emerging from a
glass elevator. (Just so you know
– she's not in the game.)
Some missions can quickly turn repetitive,
while others (like those involving
the boat) seem tacked on. And in
a somewhat puzzling move, Scarface
is only available for the Xbox
and PS2
— which means that the graphics
can look dated when compared to
next-gen games like Saint's
Row.
To sum up, Scarface
does more to refine than redefine
the open-world-game genre. Still,
fans of the film and Grand Theft
Auto-style gameplay will want to
say hello to this not-so-little
game.
