John and Michelle Air-Kiss

John Travolta and Michelle Pfeiffer took air-kissing to a whole new level last week at the New York premiere of their new movie, Hairspray.

Having bumped into each other on the red carpet, John and Michelle - in true Hollywood fashion - puckered up and kissed, er, absolutely nothing!

The couple star in the movie, where 53-year-old John dressesup as roly-poly mum Edna and Michelle, 49, is his archenemy Velma.

Could Michelle have been suffering from bad breath? Or did Hollywood legend John have a terrible case of BO? Who knows, but these two cure don't want to kiss each other properly.

Maybe it was too much of a drag for John!
